The
Academy was founded in 3rd November 2005 and
officially registered in Nigerian in 2008 as a training and
professional institution with a modern approach of
multi-campus system.
The prime objectives of
the Academy include:

To establish a body of knowledge for
the purpose of promoting the Art and science of Port and
Terminal management.

To promote the Management techniques
and best practices in the Port and Terminal Management
Industry.

To provide professional consultative
advice to the government through various levels in order
to promote the practice of the Port and Terminal
Management.

To admit members and offer
distinguished training programme for subsequent award of
membership certificates.
-
To confer on members; Fellowship,
Membership and Associate Membership with degrees
designatory letter – FPTM, MPTM and APTM. All fully
qualified members to designate themselves as certified
the Port and Terminal Management professionals.

To conduct professional examinations
for all registered and prospective students of the
Academy this qualifies a candidate as Associate Member of
the Academy.

To cooperate with all relevant
structures groups or persons, professional institutes in
Nigeria or else where for the purpose of advancing the
practice of the Port and Terminal Management.

To hold and organise meetings,
Lectures, Seminars, Public Symposium and Workshops for
registered members to promote the art and science of the
Port and Terminal Management.

To protect the interest of members and
the academy in the general for the advancement of the
profession of the Port and Terminal Management as well as
establish the code of conduct/practice in the industry as
will be laid out by the Academy.

To issue News letters, Bulletins and
other publications aimed at promoting information
management among the members of the academy.

ENTRY QUALIFICATION
|
Holders of GCE, SSCE, NECO, OND, HND, BSC, BA, MSC,
MTP, MURP, MBA as well as professional
qualifications from: NIS, ACA, CILT, FFAN, IFFN and
other approved professional institutes by the
Academy’s Council. Matured candidates with
reasonable years of experience may also apply. |
